Chips, gaps, and imperfections — fixed in one visit

Dental bonding is the fastest, most reversible way to improve a smile. One appointment, no lab wait, and results that look completely natural.

What bonding corrects

More versatile than it looks

Chipped or cracked teeth

Composite resin rebuilds the missing structure perfectly, matching your natural shade.

Gaps between teeth (diastema)

Bonding widens adjacent teeth slightly to close or reduce spacing without orthodontics.

Discolored or stained teeth

Teeth that don't respond to whitening — fluorosis, tetracycline staining — can be masked with bonding.

Minor length discrepancies

A tooth that's shorter than its neighbors can be built up to create visual balance.

Exposed root surfaces

Recession leaves sensitive root exposed; bonding provides a protective coating.

Misshapen teeth

Peg laterals, pointed teeth, or irregular shapes can be resculpted to a more natural form.

The procedure

From consultation to complete smile — in 30 to 60 minutes per tooth

01

Shade selection

We match the composite resin to your adjacent teeth — or, if you'd like a whitening effect, to a slightly brighter shade that complements your complexion.

02

Surface preparation

The tooth surface is lightly etched and a bonding agent applied. In most cases, no anesthesia or drilling is required — the preparation takes under a minute.

03

Resin application

The composite resin is applied in layers, each shaped and contoured by hand to recreate the tooth's natural form. This step requires artistry — and we take the time to get it right.

04

Curing and polishing

A blue LED curing light hardens each layer in seconds. The finished restoration is refined, polished, and checked against your bite. You leave with a complete smile.

Making it last

How to protect your bonding investment

Common questions

Dental bonding
questions answered

How long does dental bonding last?

With proper care, composite bonding typically lasts 5–8 years before it may need touch-up or replacement. Front teeth used for biting may need attention sooner; side teeth tend to last longer.

Does bonding look natural?

When done well, yes — it's difficult to distinguish from natural enamel. The key is shade matching and sculpting, which take skill and time. At Venetian Pointe, we take both seriously.

Can I whiten bonded teeth?

Composite resin does not respond to whitening agents. If you want to whiten, do so before bonding — we'll match the composite to your whitened shade.

Is bonding painful?

Almost never. Most bonding procedures require no anesthesia at all. The only exception is when bonding is used to cover a sensitive exposed root surface.

How does bonding compare to a crown for a chipped tooth?

For small to medium chips, bonding is the appropriate solution — faster, cheaper, and reversible. A crown is reserved for fractures that have weakened the tooth structurally, or when a large portion of the tooth is missing.
